The Public Procurement Agency presented a project “Methodological Support for the Development of Green Public Procurement in Bulgaria”, funded by the Bulgarian-Swiss Cooperation Program

On April 16, 2019, an information event was held in Sofia on the project “Methodological Support for the Development of Green Public Procurement in Bulgaria”, funded under the Bulgarian-Swiss Cooperation Program. The main objective of the project is to promote green public procurement in the country and to explain how they can be used as a useful tool for implementing a coherent and targeted sustainable procurement policy. Another aspect is to raise the awareness of both contracting authorities and business entities of good practices in the implementation of innovative, energy-efficient solutions and technologies with the lowest environmental impact.

During the event, representatives of the Public Procurement Agency presented to the contracting authorities, the media and other stakeholders the objectives of the project and the activities involved in it. In this regard, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the project activities, with the emphasis in the European Commission’s policies on green public procurement, and also received information on upcoming training related to the application of environmental criteria in public procurement.
